This isn't from yesterday, but is one of my favorite winter photos. I took it while snowshoeing in the Clark County Forest.

It Felt Like Winter...
It felt like winter yesterday in central Wisconsin. Snow flakes fell for the first time this year.

Shooting Football with the Mark IV
Disclosure: I am not a technical person. I like cameras, but I am not a gear head. I know a little about technical aspects, but not a lot. I would rather just use a camera than know all the specifications.
Last Friday I photographed two local football games. Normally this is an ok assignment for me, I don't love it, but I don't dislike it. Much of how I feel about shooting football depends on the weather. But last Friday instead of using my regular Canon EOS I-D (the original... circa early 2000's... I really don't know for sure) I got to use our new Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and it was a-maz-ing! Seriously, it was a night and day difference.
I shoot football at night, and depending on the field, the quality of light is vastly different. With my original 1-D I shoot at ISO 3200. This looks great with the 4.48 megapixel CCD sensor. Ahahahaha. That was a joke. BUT, with the the Mark IV I shot with an ISO of 10,000 and it really looked great. The files were clear and huge (16.1 megapixels) and for the first time in three years, I could see the faces of the players in the photos.... and they weren't pixelated! I was also shooting a 300mm lens with the Mark IV. I will get my new work Mark IV soon.... I hope, I hope, I hope...
