Winter Solstice

Today is the Winter Solstice. Or maybe tomorrow. I am not sure, since my sources are contradicting.... Anyway, there is no snow on the ground and it looks like we might be heading for a brown Christmas :(  I for sure thought we were going to have snow, plus a horrible, hard, cold, and long winter. So far, not so much. I actually am kind of sad there is no snow. I got cross country skis last year for Christmas and have had some free time in December to use them, but that hasn't worked out so well. Also, due to lack of snow I have no new winter photos. I am blaming that on the weather too. Here are some photos from last year though!

Holgas from the Boundary Waters

As always, I took my Holga with me on our trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Unlike always, I fell in the lake while wearing my Holga. Yes, fully submerged up to my shoulders. And so was my Holga. It pretty much took the whole trip to dry the inside and the roll of film in there when I fell was un-salvageable. Sad. But I kept shooting just in case I got some good ones even though it was wet. But many of the photos that did survive were stuck together and had water marks on them. But, I managed to get a few that I like!

Last week when I photographed the Iowa City wedding and my hometown engagement, I also shot a few photos with my Holga. I haven't really used my Holga for weddings or engagements before, but since both of these events has ample time, I thought I would try it out! I actually like the black and white ones the best, which surprises me. They seem more fitting for the moment. Hopefully in the next few weddings, I will be able to work in more shots with my Holga!

I finally got some of my Holga film developed. These are a little old, from when there was snow on the ground. Although, that maybe wasn't that long ago... I have a few other ones to share, but will wait for some of those.
