Work Photos

Work has been exceptionally busy. Besides working, I have been "training" for a duathlon and blogging about it for work. You can read it here.  Here are a few events I have photographed in July. Not pictured, a dog getting spayed.  It may be a bit too... much for the blog, but it was interesting to observe.

Water skiing shows. I can water ski... but only on two skis. But, I feel like if I had had to opportunities as a youth,  such as a motor boat and a lake, I would have been awesome at this. Why? Well I love the water, I don't get water up my nose, I was in gymnastics, I'm very graceful (ok not that one at all), I can withstand impacting the water very hard (I was a diver in high school) and I used to coordinate really awesome dance routines on my bike, on roller skates and in the water.

I have been shooting so much baseball... I have no idea how much really. It seems like every day there is a baseball game. I actually don't mind baseball, if I have all the time in the world for something to happen. But it can be a low-excitement event and sometimes it is just a lot of batter and a lot of pitching. Not so exciting for photographing.

Why yes, I had to put the photo of the cat show I covered. Very hard hitting news here in Central Wisconsin. I have never been to a cat show before... dog shows, yes. It was interesting. Here, the judge is trying to entice the cat to bat at the thing in front of its face. They were judging "playfulness". As you can see the cat is only slightly interested. Oh.... cats.

Why yes, this is a picture of a young child clinging to a sheep. It is called Mutton Bustin'. Farm Technology Days came to our area and this was one of the highlights of the event for me. This and checking out the new Chevy Volt. Which I could have used today since I already drove 140 miles. Just think, it gets 95 miles a gallon!

I have also been keeping my eye out for funnel clouds. There has been a thunderstorm like every day.

Show Choir Camp! I went home and remembered that I have still some episodes from the first season of Glee to watch. Singing and dancing is a day-brightener.

Horse Shoe club in Marshfield. They are really good.

Nathan's 3 Month Photos :: Wisconsin Baby Photography

A few weeks ago I got to spend a few morning hours with Nathan taking photos of him. Nathan was happy the whole time and totally cooperative, a natural in front of the camera:) I had met Nathan a few weeks earlier, and was amazed at how much he had grown in a few short weeks. I photographed his parents, Cathy and Paul's, maternity session back in March too.  Nathan could pretty much could be in a Gerber Baby commercial, with his big blue eyes!

Kasey + Paul's Summer Wedding :: Central Wisconsin Wedding Photography

Kasey and Paul's wedding was summer at it's best. It was Fourth of July weekend, (the best weekend in summer) the weather was perfect, and golden summer light streaming through the trees was gorgeous. I photographed Kasey and Paul's engagement photos last year, so I knew that their wedding would be just as fun and laid-back.

Kasey and Paul got married in their hometown of Edgar, Wisconsin at St. John's Church. Their reception was held a short skip and a jump at Rib River Ballroom where the danced the night away, complete with a serenade and a patriotic Grand March.  They were surrounded by huge smiles from family and friends, not to mention their own:) Their wedding was full of cute details, especially the wine glass favors that Kasey decorated. Best wishes Kasey and Paul!! I'm so glad that I was able to photograph your wedding and be part of your big day! Thanks!

What I've Been Up To.....

I realized it has been awhile since I have blogged. Things have been exceptionally busy, but in a good way. I haven't been this busy (with work and photo editing) since college!  I shouldn't act like it has been all work and no play, because that isn't true at all. I have been busy have fun too. Here are some photos of what I have been up to... although not all were taken by me... obviously:)

I traveled to Iowa for the Fourth of July, family time, my nieces baptism, a 5k, and my 10-year reunion.

Sparkler firework show.

I had an extra day off, so after editing photos we headed to the lake for some kayakin'

I will try to post a bit more this month! I have my first free weekend of the summer this weekend, so hopefully I will get out and do many fun things!

Featured in Landlocked Bride!

Today my Iowa farm engagement session with Amanda and Chris was featured on the blog Landlocked Bride!! Landlocked Bride is a wedding blog that features weddings in the Midwest and Mountain states; their tagline is "plan a modern wedding in the middle of the country." Just my style! Every Friday Landlocked Bride features different engagement photos for the feature "Engagement Photo Friday." I was pretty excited (and had been anticipating this for awhile) since this is my first submission and first feature in a wedding blog. I loved photographing Amanda and Chris and am super-excited to photograph their wedding in September! Thank you Landlocked Bride for featuring my photos!!
