Claire + CJ's Lakeside Wedding :: Oshkosh, Wisconsin Wedding Photography

As I was looking through Claire and CJ's wedding photos, I couldn't stop smiling. This was one of the sweetest couples I have ever photographed and their love for each other and their excitement to be married just shines through in their photos.

They were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at The Waters in Oshkosh, which overlooks Lake Winnebago. It couldn't have been a more beautiful ceremony, setting, or day. They wrote vows for each other and also had a unity sand ceremony, which I have never seen before, but love that idea! We took photos around The Waters boat docks and lawn as the sun set before their reception in the ballroom with many musical serenades. Thank you for having me be part of your special day! Congratulations Claire and CJ!!!

 How cute are they?!?!

Pageantry

This past week has been busy.... I still have to two weddings to blog about. Luckily, I am off early next week, so stay tuned! For now, here are some photos that I took of Miss Wisconsin Rapids Area, Megan Larsen this week. This shoot combined two of my favorite things, taking photos and taking photos of dance, so it was a good time. It is also always fun to use studio lighting and take portraits, something that is a bit different for the paper.

Megan's talent is ballet, so we took photos at the Wisconsin Rapids Community Theater's stage at the Centralia Center. They were really accommodating and even set up lighting for us.

We took this photo at the South Wood County Museum. Loved the red back ground in the Betty Boop Display.

For more photos, here is the online gallery on the Tribune's website. Megan will be competing in the Miss Wisconsin Pageant this week. Good Luck!

Busy Spring

It has been a very busy spring. In by spring, I mean the last two weeks. Spring was really short here.... and now I think it is summer. I missed most of the blossoms.... some how. I'm not sure what I was doing during that two-day span of them blooming, but I missed it. I have been busy photographing weddings and families, editing photos, as well as working at the News-Herald during some transitional photographer shifts. I also was busy visiting friends in Milwaukee and mountain biking and running.

Here are a few spring photos I fit in that I haven't posted yet. Not very many, eep!

Family Photos :: Marshfield, Wisconsin Family Photography

Last week I met Amy, Dave and Eilee at Wildwood Park in Marshfield for a maternity/family photo session. The weather was perfect, sunny, not too hot.. it was a great morning for taking photos. We took some shots in the park and a few in the zoo. It was a great location for family photos and their family was fun to photograph!

Holgas from a Wedding and Engagement

Last week when I photographed the Iowa City wedding and my hometown engagement, I also shot a few photos with my Holga. I haven't really used my Holga for weddings or engagements before, but since both of these events has ample time, I thought I would try it out! I actually like the black and white ones the best, which surprises me. They seem more fitting for the moment. Hopefully in the next few weddings, I will be able to work in more shots with my Holga!

Katie + Matt's May Wedding :: Central Wisconsin Wedding Photography

I've been looking forward to photographing Katie and Matt's wedding for quite some time now. If their engagement session was any indication, I knew it would be a really fun wedding. I photographed their engagement session last July, and it was a blast! Their wedding definitely didn't disappoint, fun was had by all.

Katie and Matt got married in Stratford, Wisconsin at Zion Lutheran Church. After that we headed to the Shack and then the reception at Country Aire north of Stratford for dinner, dancing and the party! Katie put tons of cute touches into  the wedding. She had purple and zebra print umbrellas for the girls to be photographed with. During the Grand March, all the girls donned mustaches and football jerseys too! Congratulations Katie and Matt!  Thanks for having me be part of your big day!!
